First Aid Training Courses

Shops and offices, for example, should generally have at least one appointed person for up to 49 employee and at least one First Aider where there are more than 50 employees. In other organisations, such as light engineering, assembly work, food processing and warehousing etc, there should be at least one appointed person for up to 19 employees and at least one First Aider for every 20-100 employees. It is desirable to maintain the minimal level of protection at all times, including when staff are on leave or otherwise absent.

Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)

Gives basic knowledge of First Aid including Health and safety (first aid) regulations, managing an incident ,the priorities of first aid , treatment of an unconscious casualty, resuscitation, shock, bleeding, common workplace injuries.

First Aid at Work (3 Days)

This course is suitable for all companies, particularly those with large staff or working in a high risk environment. Course contents includes accidents and illness, using a first aid kit, simple record keeping, treatment of an unconscious casualty, heart attacks, resuscitation, shock, choking, bleeding, burns and scalds, poisoning, fractures, seizures, asthma, severe allergic reaction, eye injuries, low blood sugar and fainting.

First Aid at Work Requalification (2 Days)

The course aims to update and refresh your knowledge of the First aid at work syllabus, while allowing time for revision and practice sessions in preparation for a final assessment. This course is for people wishing to renew a valid first aid at work certificate.

Appointed Person (No Training Required)

The role of this appointed person includes looking after the first-aid equipment and facilities and calling the emergency services when required. They can also provide emergency cover, within their role and competence, where a first-aider is absent due to unforeseen circumstances (annual leave does not count).
