What Kind of people take the NEBOSH International General Certificate?

Managers, supervisors, worker representatives and others who require a knowledge and understanding of health and safety principles and practices. This Certificate provides a sound basis for evaluating risks and hazards in any country, in any business. The NEBOSH International General Certificate is also suitable for those embarking on a career in health and safety, providing a valuable foundation for further professional study.

What are the benefits for the organisation?

The NEBOSH International General Certificate will benefit organisations operating outside the UK, and multinational companies working to international standards who are seeking to implement good health and safety management across all areas of their operation. Ensuring that line managers have a sound understanding of the principles of managing risk is a key building block of an effective safety culture.

Beesafe Ltd are proud to be accredited to offer this as a distance learning course through our virtual learning college. We are able to tailor this course to a specific industry requirement such as work in the off shore oil and gas industry. Here the delegate would look at specific hazards associated with their workplace

What does the course cover?

The NEBOSH International General Certificate covers a vast range of generic workplace hazards and methods of control. It includes international standards for safety and health management including International Labour Organisation codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors may form part of the study programme where relevant and appropriate.

When can I start a course?

As this is online you can start and finish whenever you wish, the course length is determined by your own progress and not by a set syllabus. We suggest that you need to allocate 120 hours to your studies, this is an estimate only. We ask you to plan your studies so that we can provide you with support along the journey, you will never be pressured to put in assignments, you work at your pace not ours. We suggest you plan your studies to complete before a national examination day (UK dates) but you can fit your studies to what you are doing.

How is the course assessed?

Candidates are assessed by two written examinations and a practical assessment. The practical assessment checks your ability to put into practice the knowledge gained during the course. You can sit the examinations in the UK at our centre, you can sit exams anywhere in the world at a British Council or consular office or at a suitable facility which has a learning facility and someone to invigilate (must be approved by Kawns). The practical assessment is carried out in your own workplace if you have one or we can arrange a suitable site for you. There will be some costs involved above normal course fees.

How much does it cost?

The RRP for the course is £421. Additional costs are, booking £35, exam fees £45 per exam and local fees, practical £60.

What do I get for this?

You get full access to the virtual learning environment, full email and telephone support by a professional safety practitioner, back up for the examinations, administration support, exam booking service with NEBOSH, access to a vast database of safety information, follow on support for health and safety advice and information.
