Course Description
This course is suitable for Health & Safety Practitioners, Supervisors and Employee Representatives. The course covers the requirements of the Management of the Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and introduces techniques for carrying out risk assessment.
Course Objectives
This course will enable delegates to:
- Understand legal compliance and give examples of health & safety legislation requiring assessment of risk
- Recognise the importance of the role of the manager/assessor in the process of risk assessment
- Explain the terms hazard and risk and differentiate between them
- Identify common hazards, evaluate the level of risk and prioritise action in a practical manner
- Write up and record the assessment and understand the procedures necessary to control/action findings
- Prepare course of action
